A recurring theme of versatility and casual flyness has been made clear with here us at The Bevel Code. From head-to-toe, every man of color should carry a strong sense of style and confidence that transcends over a multitude of various settings. And not only is it important to look good, but also to feel good… What we’re talking about here is a little thing called ‘comfort’.
None should look any further than to Reebok’s latest capsule which full encompasses the stylings of a timeless, classic dress shoe, now re-imagined into sneaker form. The Reebok Classic Leather ‘Horween Borgue Pack’ follows in-line with the mold of previous Classic Leather models, but this time around incorporates the much-acclaimed Horween leather on its upper.
For those in the dark, Horween leather is a top-quality graded material that has become a benchmark in terms of premium standards. Its manufacturers have crafted and perfected their leathers for well over a hundred years (since 1905 to be exact) and continue to be one of the U.S.’s longest running tanneries in operation.
This special edition Reebok capsule not only utilizes the reputable Horween leather, but does so in superb fashion along the upper silhouettes of three distinct colorways, which include light brown, navy, and maroon. Aside from the leather shell, the shoe’s key feature is the unique brogue detailing which portrays a vintage, dressy appeal as opposed to the traditional sneaker aesthetic. The rich detailing around the toes and heels further enhance its general theme of ‘two worlds colliding’.
To put it in practical terms, a pair of kicks like this would look great alongside business casual attire or any event where a you may need to do a mild suit up, but still want to maintain that extra bit of comfort. The leather craftsmanship is pleasing enough to the eyes to dress up with, but still robust enough for it to function inexplicably well as a day-to-day, casual shoe. Functionality combined with flavor always remains triumphant.
